Once again turning our attention to this week’s Belarusian Premier League on Friday evening, Neman Grodno will make the trip to a struggling Gorodeya.
Starting with the hosts, throwing away the lead at Slavia over the weekend and having to settle for a point on their travels, Gorodeya have come crashing back down to earth after a bright run last month. Including what turned out to be a thumping 3-1 defeat at Torpedo Zhodino, Oleg Radushko’s men have continued falling down the Premier League table after a run of form that has seen them fail to land a single victory since April 16th. While the Greens might have managed to find the net, even with just a consolation strike, in each of their last four appearances on the spin, Gorodeya have a reputation for their inconsistencies on home soil. Aside from a close-fought 1-0 win against Dinamo Minsk last month, Friday’s hosts have failed to win any of their other four matchups at the Stadyen Haradzeya.
As for the visitors, picking up what was a much-needed and shock 3-1 win against a high-flying Torpedo Zhodino last weekend, there is no doubt that Neman Grodno are simply desperate to build off of that performance. Still battling it out at the foot of the Premier League after winning just a pair of their last seven outings, Head Coach Igor Kovalevich will be calling on his side to make some much-needed improvements away from the Stadion Neman. Including being blown away and hit with a 3-1 defeat away at league leaders BATE in their last appearance on the road, Neman have lost back-to-back away fixtures and have landed just a sole point on their travels out of a possible 18 over their last six away matchups. In a contest that should see chances at both ends, we’re backing both teams to find the net on Friday evening.
