Both teams to score at Leeds vs Derby 4/6 for Friday’s Championship clash

Competition: Championship

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 4/6 @ Bet 365

Desperate to refind their form entering the New Year, Leeds will welcome playoff hopefuls Derby County to Elland Road on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Leeds may have started the season ever so brightly under Marcelo Bielsa, the Whites now find themselves in a rather tricky situation. Crashing out of the FA Cup courtesy of a 2-1 loss to QPR last week, they have now lost their last three matches on the bounce and have seen their lead at the top of the Championship table cut to just two points. While their form in the final third has continued to impress, it will be Leeds’ growing defensive issues giving the former Napoli boss the biggest headache. The hosts have now failed to record a clean sheet since the 15th of December and have conceded two or more goals in each of their last five.

As for the visitors, Derby boss Frank Lampard finds himself in a very similar position. While the Rams might hold a four-point buffer in the race to secure a playoff position, they too have entered 2019 with a worrying lack of momentum. Although they may have managed to secure a 2-2 draw with Southampton in the FA Cup last weekend, Derby have now managed to win just one of their last six matches. Despite scoring seven goals in their last three matches, Lampard will be concerned by his sides form at the back. The visitors have failed to record a clean sheet since the middle of December and have managed just one clean sheet away from Pride Pak since August.
