Competition: MLS
Market: Both teams to score
Odds: 2/3 @ 888sport
In a matchup that could see a host of chances at both ends of the pitch in midweek, Los Angeles will host Minnesota in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Starting with the hosts, despite mounting what was a much-needed comeback on home soil last weekend, there is no doubt that Los Angeles would have been disappointed to have only collected a point. Knowing that they missed out on a golden chance, Head Coach Bob Bradley had to watch his side come from two goals down against Vancouver on Sunday. Eventually having to settle for a 2-2 draw at the Banc of California Stadium, the former USA boss saw his side fail to bounce back from that 2-1 loss against Portland Timbers earlier in the month. Looking to find a welcomed boost and extend their buffer in the Final Series places, fans around Los Angeles should at least be boosted by Carlos Vela’s extended purple patch. Once again finding the net against Vancouver over the weekend, the former Arsenal man has bagged a goal in his last three contests on the spin.
As for the visitors, despite falling 1-0 down against Portland on home soil over the weekend, Minnesota were able to wrap up what was their own eye-catching comeback. Eventually landing what was a deserved 2-1 victory at Allianz Field thanks to a pair of late second-half goals, The Loons are once again tipped as a standout pick to clinch another Final Series spot. Landing back-to-back wins and bouncing back from that loss away at Colorado earlier in the month, Adrian Heath’s side have tasted defeat in just one of their last 10 straight MLS contests. With that run stemming all the way back to May 9th, we could have another lively affair on our hands in midweek. With Thursday’s opponents playing out a 1-1 draw last time they faced off, we’re backing both teams to find the net here.
