Two sides enjoying their brightest run of the season, Burnley will travel to a revitalized St. James Park on Tuesday night.
Starting with Rafa Benitez’s side, coming off the back of a 2-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday and extending their buffer over the relegation zone to three points, the mood in Newcastle’s camp will be at a season high. With a 1-0 loss to Tottenham earlier in the month their only defeat in their last five league outings, it will be their form at St. James’ most impressing Benitez. The Magpies have now won their last three top-flight matches on Tyneside and one man to watch on Tuesday will be leading goalscorer Solomon Rondon. The 28-year-old picked up a goal and an assist in Saturday’s victory.
As for the visitors, much like Newcastle, Burnley are enjoying undoubtedly their best spell of the season. Holding a five-point buffer over the drop zone and picking up a very impressive 2-1 win over Tottenham on Saturday, Sean Dyche’s side are enjoying an eight-match unbeaten run in the top flight. Fans around Turf Moor will also be growing more pleased by Burnley’s form on their travels. The Clarets are unbeaten in their last four matches away from Lancashire, a run that stems back to the end of December. Given the high spirits in both camps, we’re backing a lively encounter at St. James’ Park on Tuesday night.
