Enjoying a very impressive start to the season, Norwich will look to shore up their playoff position when they welcome Aston Villa to Carrow Road on Tuesday.
Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, while the Canneries couldn’t land a top half finish last season, it has been a very eye-catching start for Daniel Farke’s men. Putting in a very impressive showing in their 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest and also becoming the first team to beat them, the Yellows have now lost just one of their last 10 in all competitions. One man to watch for the hosts could be leading goalscorer Teemu Pukki. The 28-year-old now has six goals at the start of the season and should fancy his chances of carrying on his goalscoring tally.
As for the visitors, after picking up a 1-0 win over Swansea in Dean Smith’s first game in charge of the Villans, the former Brentford boss will be looking for his side to mount a charge back up the table. Why they find themselves sat 13th in the table entering Tuesday’s match they must find stability if they want to close the gap on the top six. Picking up just two wins since the middle of August, Smith will be looking for Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham to carry on his impressive run. Finding the net against his former side over the weekend, the England U21 international now has three in his last three for the Villans.
