Two sides in desperate need of a win, Gary Monk’s Birmingham side will travel to Carrow Road on Friday night.
Starting with the early season contenders, while Norwich’s run of form may have seen them shoot to the top of the Championship table, Daniel Frake’s side have struggled entering 2019. Managing to pick up a late equalizer against West Brom last weekend, the Canneries have now failed to win any of their last five matches, including crashing out of the FA Cup at the hands of League One outfit Portsmouth. With the chance to climb back into the automatic positions, the former Borussia Dortmund coach will know the importance of improving the Yellows’ defensive record. Norwich have failed to record a single clean sheet at Carrow Road since the end of October.
As for the visitors, much like Friday’s hosts, former Swansea boss Gary Monk will know the importance of picking up a vital three points. Coming off the back of a 2-1 loss at home to Middlesbrough last weekend, the Blues have failed to win any of their last four and also came crashing out of the FA Cup a fortnight ago. With the chance to move within a point of the playoff positions, Monk will be looking for Che Adams to carry on what has been a bright run of form. The 22-year-old found the net against Boro last time out and now has 13 Championship goals to his name.
