In a contest that could prove to be a lively affair at Carrow Road on Saturday lunchtime, title-chasers Norwich will host play-off hopefuls Cardiff this weekend.
Starting with the hosts, while Norwich might have lost their Premier League status over the summer, Daniel Farke’s men have really impressed since dropping back down. Tipped by almost everyone across the Championship as a leading contender in the promotion chase, the Canaries already find themselves holding a three-point buffer at the top of the table. Managing to make it four wins in as many appearances earlier in the week, the former Borussia Dortmund coach saw his side pinch a last-gasp 2-1 victory against Reading on their travels. Remarkably now winning each of their last four straight victories by a scoreline of 2-1, it is well worth keeping an eye out for leading marksman Teemu Pukki this weekend. Converting from the spot and bagging the winner at the Madejski, the Finland international has already racked up 10 strikes so far this season and he will be confident of extending on that tally at Carrow Road.
As for the visitors, while Cardiff would have been left heartbroken to have seen Welsh rivals Swansea pick up local bragging rights thanks to a 2-0 win on home soil earlier in the month, the Bluebirds have managed to bounce back in impressive fashion. With it no secret that Neil Harris’ side have their sights set on trying to secure themselves a play-off finish this season, the former Millwall boss has seen his side win five of their last six Championship appearances. With that run highlighted by back-to-back 4-0 and 3-0 romps against Luton and Huddersfield, Cardiff also managed to shock many as they left Watford with all three points earlier in the month. While Norwich might have one attacking MVP enjoying a real purple patch, the Blues have their own leading marksman who has gained a string of plaudits so far this season. Including bagging four in his last five Championship outings, Welsh international Kieffer Moore has eight strikes to his name this season.
