Two sides who will have the ambition of mounting a push for the top half of the table, a revitalized Oxford City side will host Gillingham on Saturday.

Starting with Justin Merritt’s side, although Oxford City might find themselves still in a battle at the foot of the table, Saturday’s hosts have shown plenty of improvements of late. Playing out a 0-0 draw with Forest Green in their first FA Cup appearance, The City are now enjoying a seven-match unbeaten run that stems back to the start of October. If there is one area that will be most impressing Merritt, it will certainly be their form in the final third. Scoring nine in their last four and also scoring three in their last League One outing, Oxford will have hopes of climbing up the table.

As for the visitors, after knocking Crawley out on the Cup in midweek, Gillingham are another side who will be looking to put a sluggish start behind them. With just one loss in their last five matches, one man to watch for the visitors will be top goalscorer Tom Eaves. The 26-year-old now sits top of the League One charts and has found the net 11 times so far this season. Eaves has also now scored four in his last three League One appearances. Given both sides recent turn of fortunes, we’re backing both teams to find the net on Saturday.
