Competition: League One

In a contest that could prove to be a lively meeting on Saturday afternoon, Peterborough will host Accrington Stanley from behind closed doors this weekend.
Starting with the hosts, while Peterborough might still find themselves sat in the top-two, The Posh are in the midst of a worrying spell. Now looking over their shoulder and holding just a two-point buffer over a high-flying Sunderland, Darren Ferguson’s side were last seen in midweek when getting hit with a thumping defeat away at Blackpool. Eventually suffering a 3-1 drumming on the road, The Blues have recorded just a single win in their last six League One contests. Enduring their worst run of the season at what is an important time, Ferguson will have a real headache over his side’s extended problems at the back. Shipping a trio of strikes in their back-to-back third-tier matchups, it should also be highlighted that Peterborough have conceded at least a pair of strikes in four of their last five appearances.
As for the visitors, after bringing an end to their three-match losing run last weekend, there is no doubt that Accrington Stanley will be desperate to keep up that momentum on Saturday afternoon. Failing to match a similar level that they set in the first-half of the campaign and now in a battle to extend their stay in the top-half of the table, John Coleman’s side did manage to pick up a 3-1 win against relegation scrappers Wigan last time out. However, it should be noted that The Reds have continued to struggle on the road. Including a dreadful 4-1 drumming at the hands of Bristol Rovers earlier in the month, Coleman’s men have collected just a single point from their last four matchups outside of Lancashire. With six of Stanley’s last seven appearances finishing with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome this weekend.
