Both teams to score at QPR vs Barnsley 8/13 for Saturday’s Championship return

Competition: Championship

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 8/13 @ Bet 365

With their sights set on mounting a late play-off charge this year, QPR will welcome Barnsley to West London on their return to action on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, last seen back in March when picking up a stunning 3-1 win away at fellow play-off chasers Preston, QPR will simply be hoping to carry on from where they left off in March. Unbeaten in their previous six Championship appearances and suddenly looking up the table, there is no doubt that Head Coach Mark Warburton will be most impressed by his side’s continued displays in West London. Also boosted by the news that West Ham loanee Jordan Hugill has extended his stay at Loftus Road, the Hoops have lost just a sole second-tier contest on home soil since opening 2020. With that run highlighted by a stunning victory over title contenders Leeds and a 4-2 romp against Stoke prior to the break, QPR should be looking to make a statement on their return this weekend.

As for the visitors, despite enjoying a stunning revival during February, Barnsley once again came crashing back down to earth prior to the enforced break. Last seen when being handed back-to-back 2-0 defeats against Reading and Cardiff, Gerhard Struber’s men still sit rock-bottom of the table and hurdling towards an immediate League One return. If they are to mark their return with three points in the capital, the Reds will be calling on leading marksman Cauley Woodrow to lead their charge this weekend. With 15 goals this season and enjoying a stellar year at Oakwell, the 25-year-old had previously bagged six strikes in his last nine appearances across all competitions. Barnsley should also be boosted by their most recent meeting against Saturday’s hosts. Picking up what was a dramatic 5-3 win when they welcomed QPR to South Yorkshire earlier in the year, we’re backing another lively contest this weekend.
