Desperate to get their season back on track after a very worrying run of form, RB Leipzig will welcome Mainz to the Red Bull Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of a 1-1 draw with Rosenborg that saw RB Leipzig come crashing out of the Europa League, Ralf Rangnick finds his side in the midst of a mini-crisis. Now picking up just one win in their last five matches across all competitions, RB could end the weekend outside of the top-four for the first time this season. If The Bulls are to get their Bundesliga campaign back on track, then Germany’s latest franchise will be looking for leading goalscorer Timo Werner to lead from the front. While Leipzig’s form of late will be a concern, the 22-year-old has already bagged eight goals this year.

As for Sandro Schwarz’s side, while Mainz might have found themselves at the heart of a relegation battle last season, it has been incredibly bright start this time around. Aside from a 2-1 loss to runaway league leaders Borussia Dortmund last month, Die Nullfünfer are unbeaten in their other five Bundesliga outings and could potentially have their sights set on bringing European football to the Opel Arena. Now finding the net in their last eight matches across all competitions and also winning their last two away matches on the bounce, Mainz will be feeling confident ahead of their trip to the Red Bull Arena.
