Both teams to score at Southampton vs Bournemouth 8/11 for Friday’s Premier League contest

Competition: Premier League

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 8/11 @ Bet 365

Two sides who have been handed the chance to briefly climb as high as third in England’s top-tier, Southampton will welcome bitter rivals Bournemouth to St. Mary’s on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Southampton may have spent the majority of last season battling it out at the foot of the table last season, St. Mary’s have plenty of positives to take away from a bright start this time around. Picking up a 1-0 win over Sheffield United after making a return from the international break, Saints boss Ralph Hasenhüttl has seen his side enjoy a real purple patch. Also securing their spot in the third round of this year’s League Cup thanks to a 1-0 win over Championship hopefuls Fulham last month, the hosts are enjoying a four-match unbeaten run and also snatched a point off of Manchester United in their last appearance on home soil.

As for the visitors, while back-to-back defeats against Leicester and Manchester City may have dampened the mood in Bournemouth’s camp, Eddie Howe’s men bounced back in some style over the weekend. Returning from the international break and picking up a 3-1 win over Europa League contenders Everton at the Vitality, another victory on Friday would see the Cherries briefly climb as high as third. One man to watch at St. Mary’s will be the red-hot Callum Wilson. The England international bagged a brace against Everton over the weekend and now has three goals in just his last two outings.
