In what is a battle between two sides enjoying an eye-catching run since opening the New Year, Stoke will welcome Preston to the Bet365 Stadium on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, putting in another eye-catching display and picking up a 3-1 win over Charlton on Saturday, Stoke have made a string of improvements since bringing in new boss Michael O’Neill. Finding a route out of the drop zone and the mood around the Bet365 Stadium the highest it has been in recent memory, the Potters have won three of their last four Championship outings and have a growing reputation for their recent performances on home soil. Stoke are in the midst of a stellar six-match unbeaten run in Staffordshire, a run that also saw them pick up a deserved 2-0 victory over Swansea last month.

As for the visitors, picking up their deserved 2-1 victory over Wigan last weekend, Preston have cemented their spot as one of the Championship’s surprise packages this season. Finding a route back into the play-off spots after enjoying a five-match unbeaten run, Alex Neil’s men have also continued to catch the eye while away from Deepdale. Including a 3-0 win away at Barnsley last month, the Whites have not tasted defeat on the road since the 7th of December. With Preston picking up a 3-1 win when the two sides faced off earlier in the season, we’re backing another lively encounter at the Bet365 Stadium on Wednesday night.
