Competition: EURO 2020 qualifier
Market: Both teams to score
Odds: 4/5 @ Bet 365
Knowing that their qualifying ambitions still sit in their own hands, Sweden will welcome Spain to the Freinds Arena in Solna on Tuesday night.
Starting with the hosts, putting in a dominant display and putting four past Malta on foreign soil in a result that many expected, Sweden still sit in pole position to secure a route to next year’s European Championships. Holding a one-point buffer over Romania and the mood around Solna at a continued high, the Yellows have also begun to show some real lethal signs in the final third. Already recording 17 strikes in qualifying, only one less than their opponents on Tuesday night, it is also worth noting that Sweden have bagged two or more strikes in six of their last eight matchups across all formats.
As for the visitors, although Spain may have seen Norway snatch an injury-time equalizer on the road over the weekend, the former world and European champions have marched towards top spot in Group F. Holding a five-point buffer over the chasing pack, new Head Coach Robert Moreno has largely decided to turn to a new crop of players heading into EURO 2020. With only a handful of their current squad coming from Spain’s famous top-three, they do have the feel of a side really starting to experiment. While they may have their usual lethal edge in the final third, there are some mild defensive issues that need resolving. With Norway creating a string of chances over the weekend, Spain have failed to record an away clean sheet in their last three attempts.
