In a battle between two of the A-League’s inform outfits, runaway leaders Sydney will welcome a resurging Brisbane to the Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Friday morning.

Starting with the hosts, putting in yet another rampant display and picking up a thumping 3-0 win away at Melbourne Victory last week, the mood in Sydney’s camp couldn’t be any higher. Already holding a stunning 10-point buffer at the top of the A-League, Head Coach Graham Arnold finds his side in the midst of a run that has seen them win 10 of their last 11 appearances. With a growing reputation for their form in the final third, one man to keep an eye out for on Friday morning could be the red-hot Adam Le Fondre. Once again leading the race for the Golden Boot with 14 strikes in as many A-League outings, the former Reading striker has also found the net in back-to-back appearances.

As for the visitors, putting in a rugged performance to pick up a 1-0 win away at Central Coast last time out, Brisbane have made a string of improvements since bringing in Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler. Skyrocketing away from bottom spot and enjoying by far their brightest run of the season, the Roar have won three of their last four A-League outings and are yet to taste defeat since opening the New Year. Also catching the eye with a 1-0 win over fellow high-flyers Wellington earlier in the month, there is no doubt that Brisbane will be looking to cause another upset on Friday morning. With each of the last five meetings between the two sides seeing both teams find the net, we’re backing another high-scoring encounter this week.
