Two sides who find themselves enjoying an extended bounce, UC Dublin will welcome Bray to the UCD Bowl on Friday night.
Starting with the hosts, managing to extend on their FAI Cup adventure against Premier Division strugglers Longford Town last weekend, UC Dublin are enjoying what has been a real purple patch. Sat in pole position to clinch themselves another play-off spot this season, Head Coach Andrew Myler now finds his side enjoying a six-match unbeaten run across all formats, a run that stems back to July 16th. With their extended bounce highlighted by a 6-0 romp against Athlone Town on home soil, the Blues have also continued to impress with their success at the UCD Bowl. Including a shock FAI Cup victory against runaway leaders Shelbourne, Friday’s hosts are unbeaten in front of their own supporters since the start of July. Bagging themselves eight goals in just their last two home fixtures, chances could come thick and fast once again this weekend.
As for the visitors, managing to put in what was a rugged display away at Shelbourne last weekend with a gritty 1-1 draw, Bray are another side who find themselves enjoying what has been a real bounce. Also sat in pole position to clinch a play-off spot after their silver medal finish last season, Head Coach Gary Cronin now finds his side enjoying an impressive nine-match First Division unbeaten run, a run that stems all the way back to June 11th. With that run highlighted by a thumping 3-0 win away at Cabinteely, Bray should also be boosted by their rampant last meeting against UCD. When the two sides faced off back in June, the Seagulls picked up a 4-0 romp at the Carlisle Grounds. With just the last four meetings between Friday’s opponents at the UCD Bowl producing 17 goals, we’re backing a similar lively affair this weekend.
