Bournemouth missed the opportunity to stay in touch with the Premier League’s top four after they were held to a goalless draw by Crystal Palace.

The points were shared at the Vitality Stadium following a game of few clear opportunities and a general lack of quality.

Bournemouth were seeking a fifth win in six games, and carried the greater threat for large periods of the contest, with Evanilson, Philip Billing and Antoine Semenyo all going close to scoring.

However, Andoni Iraola’s side were forced to settle for a point, with Palace extending their unbeaten away streak to five league games.

Bournemouth are sixth following the result, four points behind fourth place. Oliver Glasner’s Palace are 16th and move five points clear of the relegation zone.

Data Debrief: Cherries set personal best as Mitchell brings up 150

Although they missed out on victory, Bournemouth moved onto 29 points, which is their best tally after the opening 18 games of a top-flight season.

Meanwhile, Palace have now been involved in a joint-high 36 goalless Premier League draws since their return in 2013-14 (level with Everton).

On an individual note, Tyrick Mitchell became the 11th player to make 150 Premier League appearances for the Eagles – and the youngest at 25 years and 116 days old.
