Premier League side Bournemouth welcome Championship strugglers Preston North End to Dean Court for the third round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, and are favourites to progress to the net round as a result of the gulf in class between the two sides.

Bournemouth, who beat Morecambe to reach the third round, haven’t been the most convincing in the Premier League this season, but they have picked up four points from their last three games to go into Tuesday’s meeting with some form of momentum. On home soil, the Cherries won their most recent fixture and will fancy their chances against a struggling Preston side.
