Bournemouth bring in Jones

The Mail Online understands that Championship leaders AFC Bournemouth have signed Kenwyne Jones on loan from Cardiff City for the rest of the season, subject to international clearance.

The Trinidad and Tobago international signed for the Bluebirds from Stoke City last January in a swap deal that saw Peter Odemwinge move in the opposite direction.

Since arriving at the Cardiff City Stadium, the striker has racked up thirty-seven appearances in all competitions, scoring fourteen goals – eleven of which have come in the Championship this season.

However, the South Wales club have been forced to slash their wage budget, so Jones will now link up with the Cherries to aid their promotion push.

Eddie Howe’s side are currently one point clear of second place Watford in the second tier, with seven games left to play.

They are now favourites to win the Championship, and can be backed at a price of 11/10.
