Bournemouth are closing in on a deal to sign Brentford defender Chris Mepham, according to Sky Sports.
The centre-back has previously been a target for the south coast club on two occasions with the Cherries failing with bids both last January and in the summer.
However, both clubs are in advanced talks over a proposed move which could see the twenty-one-year old move to the Vitality Stadium ahead of the transfer window closing at the end of the month.
Mepham broke into the Bees first team last season and went on to play twenty-three times in all competition, scoring his first professional goal in a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United last March.
He has already made more appearances this term and is now two shy of his fiftieth for the club.
Bournemouth host West Ham United on Saturday afternoon, and the home win can be backed at a price of 7/5.
