According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, Premier League side Leicester City will be unable to sign Nathan Ake from Bournemouth during the summer transfer window – because the Cherries value him at £75 million, if not more.
Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers has the aim of trying to replace Harry Maguire, who is on the verge of completing his historic move to Manchester United. As a result you can tell that Eddie Howe values Ake on a similar level to someone like Maguire, who is going to be making history as the most expensive defender in world football when the deal goes through.
Ake is a solid defender but many fans have never really viewed him in the kind of way that Howe seems to, but then again, this may be nothing more than a tactic to try and tell the Foxes that he isn’t going to be for sale this summer.
