Bournemouth AFC have confirmed that they’ve signed Callum Wilson to a new long-term contract at the club. The deal will keep the Englishman on the south coast until at least 2022, as the Cherries attempt to continue to solidify themselves as a consistent top-tier team in English football. Wilson, on the other hand, will be aiming to prove why he was once considered to be one of the hottest young strikers in the country.
A series of injuries have meant that the 26-year-old has been unable to build the momentum that he would’ve liked in the first team with Bournemouth, but this new deal indicates that they have faith in his abilities ahead of the new season – which does seem understandable. They’ll kick their domestic season off at home to Cardiff City on August 11th, before a visit to West Ham United in their first away clash of the new campaign.
