“The whole situation was very uncomfortable. Of course, it was nothing to do with how I view Cardiff as a club, but the whole story around Sala was just so tragic. To join Cardiff knowing that he was meant to play for them would have been incredibly difficult and not something that filled me with any enthusiasm.”
Those are the words of Hull City forward Jarrod Bowen, who spoke about the rumours linking him with a move to Cardiff City during the January transfer window. Bowen is referring to former Bluebirds signee Emiliano Sala, who was tragically killed in a plane crash whilst on his way to Cardiff.
Bowen is considered to be one of the best young forwards in English football today, with Tottenham Hotspur also being linked with a move for the 22 year old in the past. Alas, despite the links to Cardiff, it seems as if Jarrod didn’t feel right about the possibility of making the move so soon after the Sala incident.
