(GSM) – Ajax hopes Bayern München will include Edson Braafheid to reach an agreement for Gregory van der Wiel, who has been targeted by the Bavarian giants.
So far, Bayern has failed to meet the transfer fee for right-back Van der Wiel, who played for the Netherlands at the World Cup. Ajax coach Martin Jol would like to add Braafheid to his squad, this could settle a deal for Van der Wiel.
Braafheid, who played the second half of last season on loan at Celtic, was already linked with Ajax ahead of last season but the left-back opted to join Bayern instead.
If both Bayern and Braafheid agree with this exchangement, the Amsterdam side will lower the transfer fee for 22-year-old Van der Wiel. Ajax have slapped a €20 million price-tag on the promising youngster who has also been tracked down by Barcelona.
Bayern seem willing to pay €15 m for Van der Wiel, with the transfer fee raising to €20 m based on success.
