(GSM) – Braga moved to within three points of idle Benfica at top of the Portuguese league with a 2-1 win at União de Leiria on Saturday. Porto stayed in the hunt for the Champions League with a win at Rio Ave.

Braga fell behind in the 12th minute when União striker Cássio bagged the opener, but Albert Meyong scored his 10th of the year in the 31st minute to equalize for Braga.

Colombian striker Wason Rentería then added the go-ahead goal three minutes later to make it 2-1, and Braga never conceded after that despite losing Luis Aguiar to a red card in the 68th minute.

Porto remained five points back of Braga for the final Champions League spot as Ernesto Farias’ goal gave them a 1-0 win at Rio Ave.

Porto sit in third place with just four rounds of games left to play in the Portuguese season.
