(GSM) – Benfica’s title celebration will have to wait at least another week after Braga secured a 4-0 win over Naval on Sunday to stay mathematically alive. Elsewhere, Sporting moved to the brink of securing a European berth with a draw at Uniao Leiria.

Luis Aguiar opened the scoring for Braga in the 24th minute against an outmatched Naval side, and it was 2-0 in the 39th minute when Matheus doubled the lead.

Paulão piled on the misery for Naval with Braga’s third in the 74th minute, and Aguiar completed the rout with his second goal six minutes from time.

The victory puts Braga one win from securing a Champions League qualifying berth, but Braga now need two wins and two Benfica losses to have hope.

Sporting, meanwhile, drew 1-1 at União de Leiria to move closer to clinching the final Europa League spot.

Liédson’s 13th goal of the season had put Sporting in front in the 13th minute, but Cássio earned a split for the home side four minutes into the second half.

Sporting can clinch the berth on Monday if Vitoria Guimarães fail to win at home against bottom side Belenenses.
