Jermaine Beckford’s agent claims Portuguese outfit Sporting Braga are interested in signing Leeds United’s star striker in January
Beckford took his tally for the season to eight in League One on Monday following his injury-time winner against Norwich City.
Speculation continues to surround the striker’s future after he rejected fresh terms during the close season and remains out of contract next summer.
Beckford’s agent Nick Rubery has confirmed a Portuguese club have lodged their interest in his client, who is also being linked with a move to QPR.
“I can’t reveal any names, but a Portuguese club have spoken to me about Jermaine,” confirmed Rubery to the Portuguese media.
“Beckford’s a good footballer and could play for a good club in Portugal. He’s playing very well and is focused on his future.”
Braga are reportedly open to striking a deal with Leeds for Beckford in January, however, the West Yorkshire outfit have always maintained he will not be sold before the end of the season.
