(GSM) – Spain may have just three clubs in the Champions League group phase this season after Portuguese side Sporting Braga beat Sevilla 1-0 in the first leg of the play-offs.

Last season’s Portuguese league revelations Braga had already caused a major upset in the previous round, eliminating Scottish giants Celtic.

And the 16,000 fans at the famous AXA stadium, which was constructed for Euro 2004, saw their side take a 62nd-minute lead as Brazilian Matheus Nascimento beat opposing goalkeeper Andres Palop, 1-0.

Sevilla will try to overcome the current deficit when the two sides meet again in southern Spain on Tuesday, August 24.
