Braga stars announce departure

Sporting Braga players Silvio and Vandinho have announced that they will leave the club at the end of the season.

Sporting Braga missed out on the Europa League trophy as they were beaten by Porto in the final game, with Silvio and Vandinho using the opportunity to announce their pending departures.

Versatile full-back Silvio has revealed that he has agreed to join Atletico Madrid.

“I can confirm that I am going to Atletico Madrid. It was my last game in Braga jersey,” Silvio told reporters.

“I am going to take on an exciting challenge in Spain, where I hope to be happy.”

His teammate Vandinho also said that he would leave the club at the end of the season.

“For me the cycle in Braga is closed. I had seven years of joy here. I just have to thank everyone who works at Braga for always supporting me, but everything has a beginning and an end,” Vandinho was quoted as saying.

”I am going with head held high, sad, but that’s just life. I have nothing certain yet, but was waiting for the competition to finish in order to announce my departure.”
