Brahim Diaz was a hero for AC Milan in their 2-0 win over Juventus on Saturday, scoring the brilliant second goal that took the game beyond the reach of the Bianconeri and settled its outcome. Speaking to Sky in Italy after the final whistle, he was expectedly asked about his future, with the fact that he’s still on loan from Real Madrid in mind.
“I’m so happy here with AC Milan and I’m doing my best to help this team,” he said.
Diaz mostly plays as an attacking midfielder, directly supporting the striker upfront, and with Real supposedly preparing a big-money move for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham next summer, his role at the Santiago Bernabeu would likely remain questionable next season. Milan have the option to turn his loan into a permanent deal at the end of the current campaign for €22 million, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the Rossoneri will take the time between now and then to assess the 23-year-old further before making their decision.
