According to a recent report from Marca, Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite is hoping to play a key role in the club’s first team next season.
Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman looks set to make a handful of changes now that he’s arrived at the Nou Camp, but the unfancied Braithwaite seems to believe that he is capable of making some noise for the Spanish giants if given the chance to do so once again.
The move to bring in the former Middlesbrough striker was frowned upon at the time of the deal going through, and you could argue that sensation has only increased as the months have gone on.
The end to Barca’s season quite clearly indicates that there are problems which need to be addressed, but that can’t happen without Koeman recognising that he still has some real talent in his squad.
Whether or not he sees Braithwaite as someone who is good enough to stay remains to be seen.
