According to a recent report from Bild, Julian Brandt could be interested in the possibility of staying at Bayer Leverkusen beyond the summer transfer window – if the club is able to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. As the majority of fans know the allure of playing in Europe’s greatest club competition often serves as the primary motivation for young players, as they aim to keep furthering their career prospects. Brandt has been linked with a number of different clubs around Europe in recent weeks and months, with two of the primary ones being Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool. Both teams are said to be in with a realistic chance of getting him, but if this report is true, then the pressure is really going to be on Leverkusen to try and wrap up a place in the Champions League next season.
If they can’t, then it may only be a matter of time before negotiations begin.
