Brazil striker Luis Fabiano has pulled out of the squad to face Ireland in a friendly game on March 2 due to a chest injury, the Brazilian Football Confederation said on Friday.

The 29-year-old Sevilla star has failed to recover from the torn chest muscle that forced him to miss his club’s Champions League encounter with CSKA Moscow on Wednesday.

No replacement for Fabiano has been called up as yet but Brazil manager Dunga already has other attacking options for the match at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in London next week.

Flamengo striker Adriano, Nilmar of Villarreal and Santos’s on-loan Manchester City forward Robinho have all been named in the squad to face Giovanni Trapattoni’s men.
