After a humiliating defeat in the semi-finals, Brazil want to restore some pride with a win in the third-place playoff on Saturday. While a game neither manager really wants to have to play, the South American side will be up for the match considerably more than the Netherlands due to the large support expected in their last game of this tournament.

Brazil’s defeat saw a number of players in tears, while the squad morale is said to have been very low in training. But manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is expected to name a completely different side to the one that conceded seven goals to Germany, with a youthful and more internationally inexperienced side to be named against the Netherlands as it’s still largely a dead-rubber game.

The Oranje haven’t been looking forward to their playoff game either, with manager Louis van Gaal to take charge of Manchester United in the coming days. But Brazil’s home advance and large support should see them reclaim a shred of dignity with a win following the thrashing, and as a result Coral are giving odds of 4/7 for Brazil to finish third.
