(GSM) – Fluminense are the new leaders in the Brazilian Serie A despite drawing 2-2 at Atletico Paranaense, as previous leaders Cruzeiro lost 3-4 to Atletico Mineiro at home.

Paulo Baier put Paranaense in the lead shortly after the hour mark against Fluminense, but the visitors leveled through Marquinho eight minutes later.

When Wagner Diniz restored the home team’s lead in the 83rd minute, it looked like Paraense had finally done enough to secure the victory.

However, ‘Flu’ were given a penalty a few minutes later and Dario Conca made no mistake from the spot, 2-2.

Obina was of great importance to Atletico Mineira in the away game at Cruzeiro, scoring in the 7th, 23rd and 30th minute to hand his team a comfortable 0-3 lead.

Gilberto got one back in the 36th minute but Rever restored the two-goal gap six minutes after the hour.

Two late goals from Thiago Ribeiro gave Cruzeiro new hope and strength but Mineiro held on for a 3-4 final result.

Fluminense and Cruzeiro are level on points, but the former have a better goal difference.
