(GSM) – Both Santos and Internacional won their home matches on Saturday to jump to third and fourth place respectively in the Brazilian Serie A.
Sao Paulo outfit Santos hosted bottom-of-the-table Goias and struggled to get the ball past the opposing defense.
It was not until the 75th minute that Ze Eduardo finally broke the deadlock in Santos’ favour, and Alan Patrick went on to double that advantage six minutes later, 2-0.
International surpassed Botafogo, winning 1-0 in a direct encounter.
The freshly crowned South American champions scored through Leandro Damiao in the 24th minute, which was enough for them to take the victory at their own Jose Pinheiro Borba stadium.
