AS Roma are set to complete a mega money deal for Fluminense midfielder Gerson, La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned.
The Giallorossi had agreed a €17 million transfer with the Brazilian giants last summer, but they wanted the youngster to remain in Brazil until the end of the year.
Gerson has now arrived in Rome with his representatives and family to complete the transfer and also hear what the club have planned for him.
The youngster will sign a five-year deal at Stadio Olimpico, but he is almost certain to be farmed out on loan shortly after joining.
AS Roma won the chase with Barcelona and few other top sides to secure Gerson’s signature, but the hefty price tag certainly places extra pressure on the 18-year-old footballer.
The Giallorossi remained in contention for the Serie A trophy as they defeated Genoa last time out and they can be backed at 12/1 to lift the coveted title.
