Cruzeiro midfielder Lucas Silva has all but confirmed that he will be joining Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer window.
Los Blancos have stepped up their interest in the 21-year-old after Luka Modric got injured and they appear to be on the verge of reaching an agreement with the Brazilian side.
After winning the league title with Cruzeiro, Lucas Silva has moved to confirm that a switch to Santiago Bernabeu is on the cards.
“They contacted my agent. Now he takes care of it all,” Silva told Arena SporTV. “It is necessary that the deal is good for the club and myself. It would be a dream come true.”
Tied to Cruzeiro until June 2017, the central midfielder is valued at €15 million, although Real have offered €12 million.
Nevertheless, the two sides are expected to reach an agreement in the coming weeks that will see the talented footballer move to Santiago Bernabeu.
Lucas Silva has come through the youth ranks at Cruzeiro and went on to make 68 league appearances for the Brazilian giants.
He has yet to be handed his national team debut, but did feature for Brazil’s Under-21 side.
