The following statement has just been released by Manchester United Football Club, confirming that manager Jose Mourinho has left his position with the club. Jose has been on a downward spiral of sorts over the course of the last twelve months, with many calling for his head a long time ago.
United are currently down in 6th place in the Premier League, 19 points away from the league leaders Liverpool. The Reds put the final nail in the coffin of Mourinho’s reign, with an emphatic 3-1 win at Anfield this past weekend.
Jose has managed to find success with a series of different clubs throughout his career, but he hasn’t been able to work his magic at Old Trafford.
A caretaker manager will be appointed, with a permanent manager being brought in at the end of the current season.
