Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is in pole position to become the new Newcastle United manager. Newcastle’s new owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), want to bring in a new manager and replace current boss Steve Bruce.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on his website that Newcastle are very keen on bringing former Liverpool and Celtic boss Rodgers from Leicester to St. James’ Park. Rodgers is reportedly in pole position for the role.
Newcastle will have to pay a compensation fee to Leicester for Rodgers. But you have to ask whether the Foxes would agree to letting their manager go during the season. After all, Leicester, who recently won the Premier League title, are aiming to finish in the top four this campaign.
