Bayern Munich sporting director Christian Nerlinger has revealed that troubled centre-back Breno has returned to training.
Nerlinger said the 22-year-old Brazilian was making progress in his recovery from a trying period in which he was arrested on suspicion of setting fire to his Munich home.
Breno was released from police custody on October 6, and has joined his Bundesliga club-mates once more while undergoing psychotherapy.
“He is now in a rehab programme and is doing very well,” Nerlinger told Goal.com.
“He is on his way (to recovery).”
Nerlinger also was full of praise for 19-year-old attacker David Alaba, who scored for the second match in succession in Wednesday’s 6-0 home win over Ingolstadt in the DFB Pokal.
“He has eyes and ears open, and does the team well. He is definitely moving in the right direction,” Nerlinger said.
After scoring Bayern’s consolation in Sunday’s shock Bundesliga loss to Hannover, coach Jupp Heynckes has hinted that the Austrian prospect may retain his starting role for the league leaders on Saturday against Nuremburg.
