Brentford 4/5 to score over 1.5 goals against Middlesbrough in Saturday’s Championship matchup

Competition: Championship

Market: Brentford to score over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/5 @ Bet 365

Knowing that three points on Saturday could see them break into the top-two, Brentford will welcome Middlesbrough to West London on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, making a return to winning ways and putting five past Hull last weekend, Brentford have certainly bounced back from their shock 1-0 defeat against fellow play-off contenders Nottingham Forest. Sat just three points adrift of the automatic spots and continuing to gain a reputation for their performances in the final third, Thomas Frank’s men have bagged at least a pair of goals in four of their last six matches at Griffin Park and fans around West London should be boosted by the on-going success of leading marksman, Ollie Watkins. Once again finding the against Hull last week, the Bees’ attacking MVP has already recorded 18 strikes this season and they should be confident of extending that tally this weekend.

As for the visitors, while Middlesbrough may have opened the New Year in some style, Jonathan Woodgate’s men have shown some signs of a struggle. Only managing to snatch back-to-back draws against Birmingham and Blackburn on home soil, the former England defender finds his side almost stuck in limbo in the bottom half of the Championship table. Without a win to their name since New Year’s Day, fans around the Riverside appear to have slumped back to their old ways away from the North West. Hit with a 1-0 defeat away at Fulham last month, the Reds have remarkably recorded just two victories on the road since opening the 2019/2020 campaign.
