Competition: Championship
Market: Brentford win
Odds: 6/4 @ Bet 365
In a real battle of the in-form vs the out of form, a resurgent Brentford side will travel to the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with this weekend’s hosts, putting in another worrying display in their 2-0 loss away at Birmingham last weekend, Martin O’Neil’s return to the City Ground couldn’t be going any worse. Now losing four of their last five matches, a run that stems back to New Year’s Day, Nottingham Forest have quickly begun freefalling down the Championship table. If there is one area, in particular, that will be concerning the former Ireland boss it will be the Reds’ form in the final third. Forest have now failed to register a single goal in any of their four defeats this year.
As for the visitors, although it might have taken a replay to come past Barnet in the FA Cup on Monday, the mood in Thomas Frank’s side should be on a high. Now enjoying a 10 match unbeaten run that stems all the way back to the 15th of December, fans around Griffin Park will be most excited by the ongoing form of leading goalscorer Neal Maupay. Once again finding the net earlier in the week, the 22-year-old has now scored four goals in his last four appearances. Given the recent gulf in class between the two sides, we’re backing the visitors to come away with the win on Saturday.
