Brentford are on the verge of signing Hakon Valdimarsson in the January transfer window, according to The Telegraph. The report has claimed that Premier League club Brentford have agreed a fee with Elfsborg in Sweden for the 22-year-old goalkeeper.
Celtic wanted to sign Valdimarsson in the January transfer window. Aston Villa also made an approach for the 22-year-old Iceland international goalkeeper. However, it is Brentford who have seemingly won the race for the signature of the youngster.
Brentford are 14th in the Premier League table at the moment with 22 points from 20 matches. Thomas Frank’s side are six points above the relegation zone and are in danger of going down from the Premier League. Mark Flekken is the first-choice goalkeeper at Brentford at the moment. Thomas Strakosha is the back-up custodian at the London club. David Raya left Brentford for London and Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer of 2023.
