Competition: Ligue 2
Market: Brest win and over 2.5 goals
Odds: 8/5 @ Bet 365
Two sides enduring very different starts to the season, promotion contenders Brest will host a Nancy side who are drastically short of form on Monday night.
Starting with Jean-Marc Furlan’s Brest side, coming off the back of a 1-1 draw with Red Star last week, Brest are tipped by many to be a leading contender to secure a return to Ligue 1. Now unbeaten in any competition since the middle of August, a win on Monday would see them climb into the automatic positions. One man to watch for the hosts will be the division’s top scorer Gaëtan Charbonnier. Enjoying a very bright start to the season, the 29-year-old already has nine league goals, he also has six in his last four matches at the Stade Francis-Le Blé.
In stark contrast to Brest, things could not be going any worse for Nancy. Coming off the back of a 1-0 loss against Clermont last weekend, Alain Perrin’s side now sit rock bottom of the Ligue 2 table. Also holding the worst attacking record in the division, Nancy have now won just one match in their last 11 appearances, a run stemming back to the 14th of August. Now conceding five in their last two matches on the road, it is hard to see Nancy pulling off a seismic upset on Monday night.
