With their sights firmly set on booking a Championship return this year, Portsmouth will welcome Peterborough to Fratton Park on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, picking up a 1-1 draw against Sunderland last weekend, Kenny Jacket’s side will be dreaming of pulling off a very late push for the automatic spots. Now sat four points adrift of Barnsley, the former Millwall boss will be desperate for his side to extend their winning run at Fratton Park. Winning their last four matches on the South Coast and scoring two or more goals in each of those victories, one man to watch on Tuesday will be leading goalscorer Brett Pitman. Spearheading Pompey’s promotion push, the 31-year-old has bagged four goals in his last five League One appearances and has found the net in his last two matches on home soil.

As for the visitors, while Portsmouth might be looking to gain some momentum before playoffs get underway, Peterborough have freefallen out of the top six. Coming off the back of another very worrying display in their 3-0 hammering away at Walsall last weekend, the Posh have failed to win any of their last three outings and Darren Ferguson sides sit four points adrift of earning a spot in the playoffs. A huge part of their struggles this year has come down to their continued struggles away from the ABAX Stadium. Tuesday’s visitors have recorded just two victories on the road since the start of January.
