Newly promoted Brighton have had a decent start to life in the Premier League this season, but they currently find themselves just one point above the relegation zone. With the prize for ensuring survival being so great, it is little surprise that Chris Hughton is looking to bolster his squad for the second half of the season.
It is the defence that he wants to shore up, according to the Sun, as the Seagulls are about to seal an £8m deal with League One side Charlton for defender Ezri Konsa. Brighton actually have the second best defensive record of any team in the bottom half, but the youngster will give them another option at the back.
Konsa has been in impressive form for Charlton this season, and caught the eye of many with his performances for the England Under-20s team. The 20-year old will represent a long term project for the club, but could certainly pay off in the not too distant future.
