Lallana joined Liverpool from Southampton as part of an attempted revolution project under Brendan Rodgers when the Merseysiders sold Luis Suarez to Barcelona in 2014 and sought to make the money work for them through a number of comparatively smaller signings. He was a very important player in Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge, but his injuries later forced the German to work his way around him and he hasn’t been able to regain a regular spot in the team since.
At the age of 32, the attacking midfielder leaves the club having made a total of 178 appearances and scored 22 goals, with a Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and the Premier League medals around his neck. He could appear once more in a Liverpool shirt when they travel to Newcastle on Sunday.
He was linked with Leicester City earlier in the season, where he would’ve been reunited with Rodgers, but it seems he’s set to join Graham Potter’s Seagulls instead.
