According to The Times, Brighton and Hove Albion are worried Roberto De Zerbi might decide to leave the club should he receive a concrete offer from a top club, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona reportedly considering him a candidate to replace their current managers.
Jurgen Klopp and Xavi Hernandez have already confirmed they’ll be leaving Liverpool and Barcelona, respectively, while Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Chelsea appears quite uncertain with his team currently sitting 11th in the Premier League table.
De Zerbi has over two years left on his contract at Brighton, but there’s apparently an £11m release clause in it which possibly wouldn’t be considered too daunting for potential suitors, especially Liverpool and Chelsea. Furthermore, the Italian tactician has openly criticized the whole club, “from the owners to the coaches to the players”, following the Seagulls’ 4-0 defeat to AS Roma in the first leg of their meeting in the Europa League round of 16.
