Promoted Brighton & Hove Albion are looking to bolster their ranks in order to make most of their first-ever season in the Premier League.
And according to Daily Mirror, Brighton manager Chris Hughton has set his sights on the experienced Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva who started only 12 Premier League matches this season.
The 30-year-old Brazilian is celebrating his tenth year at Liverpool this season, but the current campaign could very well be his final in a Reds shirt.
Former Gremio man is running out contract this term and there have been plenty of interested parties linked with him in the past including Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan.
Despite the heavy interest from around Europe, Lucas Leiva could be tempted to remain in England due to family reasons.
Father of two, Lucas Leiva has settled nicely on the British Isles where both of his children were born and he could decide not to disrupt his family life by a dramatic change in his personal life.
